As a former member of the jazz vocal group “The Strangers,” Lee Sora made her solo debut on the major music stage through the duet song with Kim Hyun-chul, “The Blues Inside You”. This song was featured in the Korean movie of the same title. Lee Sora released her solo album produced by Kim Hyun-chul in 1995. Lee gained popularity with the song “I’m Happy” from her first solo album and became one of the top female vocalists with her unique and appealing voice. Songs like “Wedding Proposal,” “Just Like the First Impression” and “Remember” became great hits as Lee Sora continued her career. The songs with heart-rending lyrics solidified Lee’s image as ‘a messenger of love’ leading her to a series of offers to host television and radio broadcasts. One of them included the ever-so-popular live music/talk show: "Lee Sora's Propose".

Fast forward years later, when a diva of Lee's status still struggled to remain relevant among the idol stars, she saw a comeback in popularity through the reality/talent show "I'm A Singer". On this show where actual professional singers are rated for their vocal talents -- and eventually voted off -- Lee had a public outburst. She shed tears and complained over the fact that singer Kim Gun-mo was eliminated off. This led to the producer giving Kim another chance, a move that eventually lost him his job. Because of all the heated controversy, the show "I'm A Singer" was announced to take a month-long break at the end of March 2011.
